A promise made is a debt unpaid and the coach of French biathletes Frederic Jean already ran a marathon in Bled, despite the low winter temperatures. He had to fulfil the promise of a bet within the team at the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2021 Pokljuka after two medals won by Anais Chevalier Bouchet.
She won silver in sprint and added bronze medal in pursuit and following the bet Jean ran a 42 kilometres marathon.
“Bronze + silver = marathon for Fred,” the hero of French team at this Championships commented in an Instagram story.
And the result: it took Frederic 3 hours and 34 minutes to finish the marathon, which is not bad, as it is said he last trained running before the biathlon season started, meaning in last November.
