After the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2021 Pokljuka, the best biathletes will still be returning to Slovenia. Yesterday, the IBU Executive Board met in Bled and agreed on the competition calendar for the 2022-2026 period.
Pokljuka will host the BMW IBU World Cup biathlon each two years. In 2022/23 season, the biathletes will compete in Slovenia right after New Year, between 2nd and 8th January 2023, while in 2024/2025 season the biathlon family will stop at Rudno polje between 10th and 16th March.
Nevertheless, Pokljuka will host biathlon races also in the interim period with IBU Junior Cup taking place at Pokljuka in 2023/2024 season and IBU Junior Open European Championships being scheduled for 17 – 23 January 2022.
