The defending champions from last year’s IBU World Championships Biathlon 2020 in Anterselva will compete with golden coloured bibs in Pokljuka, the International Biathlon Union announced today. It’s a novelty and it is expected the reigning champions will be more recognisable for television audiences.
The Norwegians will be the first ones with the golden coloured bibs on Wednesday’s mixed relay race which starts at 3 pm.
At the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2021 Pokljuka until the 21st February 12 sets of medals will be awarded to the best athletes out of over 300 participants from 38 countries.
