The Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Andrej Vizjak, visited Pokljuka and Rudno polje today. Accompanied by the president of the Organizing Committee Pokljuka for the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2021 in Pokljuka Jelko Kacin, president of the Sports Assembly Pokljuka Peter Zupan, director of the Center Pokljuka Ltd. Borut Farčnik, Mayor of the Municipality of Bohinj Jože Sodje, representative of the contractor GG Bled Ltd. Marko Matjašič and supervisor in the Triglav National Park Sašo Hrovat, the Minister inspected the completion of works on the rehabilitation of the water reservoir in Rudno polje on the basis of the MESP Decree. Together with the OC Pokljuka Secretary General Tim Farčnik and the President of the Biathlon Association at the SAS Blaž Repinc, the Minister also got acquainted with the biathlon center, which will be the main venue of the IBU World Championships – the largest international sports event in Slovenia so far. The Minister was introduced also to all the work done in preparation for the Championships – new courses and their arrangement, a depo storage with 19,000 cubic meters of stored snow for the winter season, arrangement of the forest edge and other interventions related to the MESP Decree.
