General Requirements/Rules:

The amount of media accreditations will be limited for each event. We will strive to balance this limited access and make it as fair as possible by ensuring representative selections of newswires, publications and freelancers at each event. In addition, we will consider the language and reach within this limited number of journalists and photographers. The deadline for accreditation is three weeks before the respective event. Once we have collected all requests you will be informed if your request has been granted based on the above mentioned criteria.

Entering the country:

Before planning to go to the country where an event takes place, please check the Corona-related requirements for entering the country and potential consequences for returning to your country.

Accommodation:

This season, allocation/booking/confirmation of accommodation is possible only via the Organizing Committee. All media representatives are required to stay in the dedicated media hotels.

If you are not staying in the media hotel (only possible for valid reasons) you must provide the OC with the exact address of your accommodation and this accommodation needs to be agreed by the OC. If the accommodation is not in accordance with the IBU COVID-19 event rules, you must change to the media hotel or will not receive accreditation this year. If you don’t stay in the media hotel, you need to present a negative COVID-19 test every 48 hours!

Accreditation:

In order to receive the accreditation at the venue, you will need to present a valid negative COVID-19 test (not older than 72 hours), booking in the media hotel and signed COVID-19 Declaration of Obligations (https://www.biathlonworld.com/about-ibu/inside-ibu/staysafe/ Annex 1). Please note that for every event (World Cup 5, World Cup 6, etc.) you need to receive a new accreditation with a new valid negative COVID-19 test.

Once on-site, it is mandatory to take a first internal test within 24 hours for the IBU event onboarding. If you are not taking a test within 24 hours after receiving the accreditation, your accreditation can be withdrawn! Please check the Annex 7 IBU Event Guidelines, ‘SARS-CoV-2 Test Protocol’ for details.

COVID-19 testing:

In case you need to do a COVID-19 test on-site, you will be able to use the IBU test-infrastructure at your own cost (70 euro)! This option needs to be requested in advance. More details about the procedure, waiting time, etc., will follow after your accreditation is approved.

Media operations:

The well-being and health of all stakeholders and involved parties is our main priority. In order to keep all safety measures, this season the number of media on site, as well as the operations during events, will be limited (the number of the media at each venue will depend on the layout of the venues under social distancing). To know more about the rules and requirements, please read the Annex 4 ‘Media’: https://www.biathlonworld.com/about-ibu/inside-ibu/staysafe/
